Project Description: Effective implementation of teaching tools used to deliver online and face-to-face (F2F) courses is a challenge for many higher education institutions, especially those dealing with applied sciences. Many of these issues can be addressed through the implementation of active learning and teaching (ALT) strategies that encourage students to actively participate in online, F2F, and hybrid course content. Based on the current research, it can be argued that AUN is usually not associated with any online or hybrid learning environment. However, there are several strategies for effectively engaging and practicing ALT in non-F2F settings, including using well-designed discussions, group work, and creating a collaborative environment that encourages and nurtures a learning community. It is critical to include ALT throughout the main components of an online or hybrid course, including discussions, assignments, and any other methodologies to promote high levels of student engagement.
