International Cooperation
International Relations and Projects Office
The Office for International Cooperation and Projects is an initiator and support for the teachers, researchers, and students when it comes to the tasks related to the institution’s internationalization. The Office renders its assistance to the implementation of mobility, international projects and cooperation, international contracts, international promotion, and the recognition of the Faculty. The internationalization of the main activities of the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences in Osijek is a strategic goal in the forthcoming period. We invest great efforts in the international recognition of the institution and in the attraction of foreign students. Thanks to a project financed by the European Social Fund (ESF), we have developed a joint diploma course in Digital Agriculture together with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computing, and Information Technologies (FEECIT), which is taught in English.
As a constituent unit of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, the Faculty has been actively involved in the Erasmus+ Mobility Program from the very beginning, and today it actively participates in the Erasmus+ Program in the Key Activities 1 and 2. Within the Erasmus+ Program, mobility is carried out in almost all Program countries, and the Faculty has established cooperation and mobility with some partner countries of the Erasmus+ Program (e.g., with Argentina, Armenia, Guyana, Jordan, Mauritius, Namibia, and Russia).
With the aim to further strengthen internationalization, the Faculty joined the Central European Exchange Program for University Studies (CEEPUS) mobility program and the then CⅢ‐HU‐0003‐07‐1112 Agriculture and Environment in the 21st Century network (@groenfrom)—which involved seventeen faculties from Central and Southeastern Europe—in the Academic Year 2011–12.
The Faculty offers courses and professional practicums (i.e., in‐service trainings) in English to the incoming Erasmus+ and CEEPUS students, making its offer accessible and attractive to the foreign students seeking international experience and additional knowledge. Mobility programs make it possible to improve the quality of teaching and learning and to prepare the students for life and work in a globalized world, as key advantages and reason for the continuation of internationalization process.
Approximately a hundred incoming and outgoing mobilities of teachers, researchers, and students take place at the Faculty every year. In the last few years, the Faculty scored the largest number of outgoing and incoming mobilities in the CEEPUS program, which ranked it among the higher education institutions with the most CEEPUS mobilities in Croatia.
The Office for International Cooperation and Projects provides support to the organization of visits by international delegations; communication with the universities and institutions in the EU and in the non‐EU countries; state bodies and agencies; participation in the international university fairs; participation in the organization of conferences, workshops, meetings, and study trips on an international level; employees’ monitoring and reporting on the international tenders and programs; editing the Faculty’s website related to international cooperation; and other international affairs of the Faculty.
