Mentor Evaluation System

The introduction of a mentoring system is the obligation of every higher education institution (since the introduction of the Bologna process), and the goal is to provide the students with assistance in studying, fulfilling their obligations, and completing their studies as easily as possible. This is also one of the criteria for the evaluation of the quality of work at the University in accreditation and re‐accreditation procedures.

At the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences, Osijek, a transparent and effective mentoring approach has been introduced for the students of all majors and years of study.

Mentors

At the commencement of an Academic Year, a Study Year Leader is elected for each study year in order to improve and raise the level of teaching quality and study success. According to the proposed timetable, the course holders carry out activities and communicate with the students through the topics related to teaching, professional practicums, preparation of final and diploma theses, and mobility programs.

(The decisions concerning the selected mentors for each academic year will be placed here.)

Mentor Meetings

The mentoring meetings are structured according to the proposed topics created by the Quality Assurance Committee, but they are adjusted and supplemented according to the needs. As a part of the mentoring system throughout the studies, the Study Year Leaders organize workshops and interactive discussions adapted to the topics of interest to the students.

The mentoring system provides support to the students both in the achievement of their academic goals and in the development of their skills and competencies necessary to realize their own professional and personal potential.
