CEEPUS International Summer School: The Importance of Agriculture in Slavonia
For the second consecutive year, the International Summer School entitled The Importance of Agriculture in Slavonia was organized within the CEEPUS program from 5 to 9 July 2021.
The Faculty had an opportunity to host sixteen teachers and students from three partner institutions: the University of Rzeszów in Poland, the Banat University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine King Michael Ⅰ from Timisoara in Romania, and the University of Čačak in Serbia.
The participants had an opportunity to get acquainted with the scientific and professional work of the Faculty, to present their institutions, and to participate in the presentations on the importance of agricultural production in Slavonia. The participants had an opportunity to visit the Osatina Group at its locations in Viškovci and Tomašanci, the City of Đakovo, the Faculty’s Experimental Site in Mandićevac, where they were introduced to the basic principles of wine production, and Lake Borovik. One day was reserved for a tour of the region of Baranja, Kopački rit, wine roads, viewpoints, Belje vineyards and winery, and for the wine cellar in Kneževi Vinogradi.
In addition to the professional lectures and tours, the participants had an opportunity to visit and enjoy the natural beauty of Slavonia and Baranja, as well as the top delicacies that have been prepared in these areas for centuries.
