Project Development and establishment of the joint study "ICT in agricultural sciences"

The Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek is the applicant of the project together with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Information Technologies Osijek as a partner. The project was registered as part of the Call for Project Proposals "Internationalization of Higher Education" (reference number: UP.03.1.1.02.0042).

The project was financed from the European Social Fund in the financial period 2014-2020. with the total value of the Project and acceptable costs in the amount of HRK 1,798,253.29.

The beneficiary of grants from the European Social Fund is the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek, which acts and assumes responsibility on behalf of the entire partnership with the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Computing and Information Technologies Osijek.

The purpose of the project is to develop and establish a joint graduate study in English, which improves the quality of higher education and its relevance in relation to the needs of the labor market. It should be emphasized that currently in Croatia, and in the countries of Southeast Europe, there is no study that integrates biotechnical sciences with information and communication technologies in this way. The study "ICT in Agricultural Sciences", which consists of 4 semesters (120 ECTS points), will create highly qualified technologists for the development, transfer and application of new technologies in agriculture, rural development and other agrobiotechnical activities, and the basis of their competences will be integrated knowledge from the agro-biotechnical field enriched by segments of computing, information and data sciences. The enrollment of the first generation of study participants will be in October 2020, and the teaching staff of FAZOS and FERIT will contribute to all this, along with guest lecturers.
