The undergraduate university study at the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek lasts three years, i.e. six semesters. The study program prescribes common mandatory modules during the first semester for all 5 fields of study in Agriculture. In the third year of undergraduate studies, students choose at least 4 elective modules and complete their studies by writing a final thesis. Upon completion of the undergraduate studies, i.e. passing all exams and defending the final paper, the student acquires 180 ECTS points and the academic title of university bachelor (baccalaureus) engineer in agronomy (abbreviation of name: univ. bacc. ing. agr.).
The Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek offers 5 courses of undergraduate university studies in Agriculture:
- Undergraduate university studies in Agriculture, majoring in Agroeconomics (academic title Bachelor's degree (baccalaureus) engineer of agronomy)
- Undergraduate university studies in Agriculture, majoring in Horticulture (academic title Bachelor's degree (baccalaureus/baccalaurea) engineer/engineer of agronomy)
- Undergraduate university studies in Agriculture, majoring in Horticulture (academic title bachelor's degree (baccalaureus) engineer of agronomy)
- Undergraduate university study Agriculture, majoring in Mechanization (academic title bachelor's degree (baccalaureus/baccalaurea) engineer/engineer of agronomy)
- Undergraduate university studies in Agriculture, majoring in Zootechnics (academic title Bachelor's degree (baccalaureus) engineer of agronomy)
After undergraduate studies, applicants can continue their studies at graduate studies at the Faculty of Agrobiotechnical Sciences Osijek, or related graduate studies at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University in Osijek or elsewhere in Croatia and abroad.
The general goal of undergraduate university studies is to provide students with a high academic standard education based on modern scientific knowledge to acquire modern knowledge in the field of agriculture, as well as the skills necessary for scientifically based problem solving and the development of new technologies in the field of agriculture.
