Project Summary:

Conservation agriculture represents a key strategy in combating climate change, primarily through soil conservation and increased carbon storage. This project analyzes the effectiveness of methods such as conservation tillage, soil coverage with plant or crop residues, and crop rotation in reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving soil quality and health. These practices have a positive impact on soil productivity, reducing erosion, degradation, and greenhouse gas emissions. Through the analysis of existing research and field studies, the project will assess the contribution of conservation agriculture to carbon sequestration and its impact on the productivity and long-term sustainability of agricultural systems. Expected outcomes include a reduction in CO2 emissions, increased soil fertility, improved resilience to extreme weather conditions, and long-term economic benefits for farmers. The project will provide guidelines for the broader adoption of sustainable practices and support policies aimed at climate-smart agriculture.
