Student Survey

Student Surveys conducted by Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek are an important element of a complete quality‐assurance system. The goal of all surveys is to identify the problems and find the ways to eliminate them. A direct goal is not to create the “conflicting parties,” nor is the primary goal to “punish” the individuals, because such an approach does not contribute to the progress, but the goal is to obtain a significant information that will help to ensure the high‐quality learning outcomes and quality work and students’ life through the improvement measures. All surveys are anonymous, and, according to the Decisions of the Senate of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, are mandatory for the constituents and voluntary for the students.

Surveys are the only way to get information from the students’ perspective. The students, as direct users, can evaluate some elements of teaching at their best, whereby it is important to collect other quality indicators of the University’s educational process. It is important to take into account the space, equipment, number of students, number of employees, and all other factors that affect the quality of teaching, which are not in the sphere of influence of the teachers themselves.

In order to improve the quality of all aspects of studying, every piece of information is important, regardless of the number of completed questionnaires. The University administration, staff, and teachers react to every message. After each completed survey, the result reports are submitted to the Senate of Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, and the measures are proposed to improve the quality of all contents, especially those with which the students were least satisfied. Of course, the more completed questionnaires, the more weight the information has.
